Logg inn på Blackboard LMS

Use this page to log into Blackboard LMS and to resolve the most common login issues. If your problem isn’t covered here, reaching out to your institution’s help desk is the right next step. Go to Understanding Sessions for more detailed information about Blackboard LMSBlackboard LMS sessions.

Tilgang Blackboard LMS

Du kan logge på Blackboard LMS med en nettleser på datamaskinen eller mobilenheten din.

For å få tilgang til Blackboard LMS, trenger du:

  • Nettadressen til institusjonens Blackboard LMS nettsted

  • Brukernavnet ditt

  • Passordet ditt

Nettadressen du får av institusjonen din, tar deg vanligvis til påloggingssiden. Hvis du blir sendt til et annet nettsted, ser du etter en påloggingsknapp eller et spesielt portalområde.

Single sign-on (SSO)

If your institution uses single sign-on (SSO), you can log into Blackboard LMS using credentials from another trusted account, such as a Google or institutional account. If you’re already signed in to that account in your current browser, Blackboard LMS signs you in automatically.

When you log out of a single sign-on session, Blackboard LMS asks you if you want to end all related sessions or continue. If you don't respond, tall sessions end automatically in two minutes.

What happens after I log in?

New users see a welcome page that invites them to create a profile. Before you create a profile, you must accept the Blackboard LMS Profiles Terms of Service. If you don't agree to the terms of service, you won't be granted access to some tools. You can choose to create a profile later.

Få tilgang til kontoen din når du er låst ute

Av sikkerhetshensyn kan systemet låse deg hvis du skriver inn feil brukernavn eller passord for mange ganger eller påloggingsprosessen tar for lang tid.

Notat

You can look up the link to your institution’s help desk from the bottom of the instructor or student landing page. Look for the section Contact your institution’s help desk,” enter your institution’s name in the Google Search bar, and select Google Search. Your search results open in a new tab.

Forgot your password

If you forgot your password, select Forgot Your Password? on the login page and complete one of the two options. After you submit your information, follow the instructions in the email you receive to create a new password.

Locked out of your account

For your security, the system can lock your account if you enter your username or password incorrectly too many times, or if the login process takes too long.

If you’re locked out:

  • Try a password reset first. Select Forgot Your Password? and follow the instructions. At many institutions, completing a reset also unlocks your account.

  • Wait for the lock period to expire. If your institution doesn’t allow self-unlock, the lock clears on its own after a set time.

  • Contact your institution’s help desk. They can unlock your account directly. See Find institutional support for how to reach them.

Changing your password

We recommend changing your password periodically. Don’t use common personal information, such as your name, in your password.

To change your password, open base navigation — the list that contains your name when you first log in — go to your profile, and select Change Password. Enter your old password and your new password, then select Save.

Passwords are case-sensitive, must not contain spaces, and must contain at least one special character.

Notat

If you change your system password, it doesn’t affect external accounts (such as Google) that you use to log into Blackboard LMS.

When you change your password, all other sessions end automatically to protect your security. You’ll need to log in again on any other devices.

Some institutions don't allow users to change their own passwords. If that is the case, contact your institution's help desk.

Issues your institution must resolve

Some login problems can’t be resolved in Blackboard LMS itself. Contact your institution’s help desk if:

  • You don’t know the web address of your institution’s Blackboard LMS site.

  • Your username or institutional credentials aren’t recognized.

  • Your SSO provider (such as a Google or institutional account) isn’t letting you sign in.

  • You believe your account has been deactivated or hasn’t been provisioned yet.

  • Password reset emails never arrive.

For details on what your institution’s help desk can and can’t help with, go to Find institutional support.
