Course Import

The Course Import loads the course information for a specific assessment period and assigns a single responsible faculty to the course.

NOTE: In the Course Import, select one field that is unique to the faculty member for identifying the Instructor in the course. Choose either the User Name, Email Address, or ID Number field as the identifier. Anthology recommends using either the User Name or E-mail Address.

The official name of each course.

Department

This field will be repeated (multiple courses can have the same Department) and must be entered the same way in EACH record or more than 1 record will be created for it.

Period

Must Match EXACTLY the Assessment Periods setup within CoursEval. If no match can be found, the record will not be imported.

Multiple courses can have the same Instructor. Only choose one field that is unique to the faculty member.

This field will assign the primary responsible faculty member to the course. If the course is team taught a faculty enrollment must be run to attach other faculty to the course. See tabs labeled Participating Faculty Enrollment, Responsible Faculty Enrollment, T/A Enrollment, or User Created Roll Enrollment.

CourseYear

The year code is the year of the course. Typically the year for 100 level courses is 1, 200 level is 2, etc. The code entered to distinguish the courses can range from1-9. Schools with lock-step curriculums should put in the year of the student that is required to take the course (1,2,3, or 4).

Program

Yes

The Program Name is the degree program of the course (undergraduate, professional, post-graduate, etc.). If no program is specified this field will default to the default program in the system.

Active

The field indicates that the faculty is either active "Y" or inactive "N". Faculty that are imported with a “N” flag, will automatically be deactivated.

CrossListCode

Yes

The Cross-list Code that identifies the course as cross listed.

UniversityCode

Yes

The Institution Course Code or Course Registration Number (CRN) that the Institution uses to identify the course.

StartDate

Yes

The Course Start Date in the format: YYYYMMDD.

EndDate

Yes

The Course End Date in the format: YYYYMMDD.

LockStep

No

Sets the course up as a lock-step course. Only works if school is setup as lock-step: Y/Yes or N/No/(empty)
