Creating & Using Survey Templates
Are you looking to add a survey template? If so, this article will show you the needed steps for this process.
Survey Templates are highly recommended so you can save time and remain consistent with each survey creation. They can be created from scratch or settings can be copied from an old template or survey.
Steps to Create a Survey Template
Go to the Survey menu
Under the 'Survey' sub-section, click Survey Administrations
Select 'Template' from the 'Survey/Template' drop-down filter on the top-left
Depending on the survey type, select one of the blue ' New [Standard, Rotation, or General] Template' buttons on the top-right or bottom-left
Enter a Template Name and Template Code (code is not required)
Check the Shared checkbox if you would like to share the template across databases
Three Options for Creating a Survey Template
Do not copy settings - this will allow creation of templates from scratch
Questions will need to be added
Display Options will need to be set up
Results Access will need to be set up
Copy settings from template- this allows an exact copy of the settings from another template
Questions and settings may need to be reviewed or changed
Copy settings from survey- this allows an exact copy of the settings from a past survey
Questions and settings may need to be reviewed or changed
When new surveys are created the option to copy from a template will now appear.
