Campus Voting Survey
Holding a vote or election on campus? If so, Course Evaluations can be used as a way to save time and see real-time results. We suggest setting this up as a Standard Survey. Here is what you will need to do:
Create a Response Set - The response choices will be the items or candidates being voted on
Example: Joe Smith; Diane Johnson; Ronald Jones; Kim Williams
Note: You will want to check the option to 'Hide Advanced Stats' for these types of response sets. Checking this option will force the report to only show the frequency distribution.
Create Question/s - The questions should be added to a new Catalog in the Course Evaluations Question Manager to keep them separated from your course evaluation questions.Example: Who is your vote for senior class president? Note : The Question Category Focus should be set as 'Overall'.
Create the Course - Manually or via import
The course will need at least one faculty attached. You can create a generic faculty account just for these type of surveys or it can be any faculty member(s) who will need to view the results.
Note: If the faculty are voting then you would just reverse the course setup. The person/s viewing the results would be set as the 'Responsible Faculty' and the faculty taking the survey would be set up as 'Participating Faculty' on the survey.
Enrollment of Participants - attach the participants to the course
Attach the participants to the course manually (if only a handful) or populate a spreadsheet as you would a typical enrollment import. If students are completing the survey you would do an Enrollment-Student import. If faculty are the ones completing the survey you would do a Enrollment-Participating Faculty import.
Set up the Survey and Group Emails. This will include attaching your new course to the survey.
IMPORTANT:
If students are completing the survey you would set the Assessment Focus as 'Students will assess themselves'
If faculty are completing the survey you would set the Assessment Focus as 'Faculty will assess themselves'
