Use a Foreign Language Keyboard for Accent Marks
The content editor does not include a built-in symbol or special character picker. Instead, you should use the native keyboard support built into your device's operating system.
Adding a foreign language keyboard, such as Spanish, makes it easy to type accented characters (like á, é, ü, and ñ) and special punctuation (like ¿ and ¡) in the content editor.
You can include these instructions in your course orientation or syllabus if students will be expected to type in another language.
iPhone and iPad (iOS)
Open Settings.
Select General, then Settings.
Select Keyboards.
Select Add New Keyboard.
Choose the language you want to add.
Switch keyboards
You can switch keyboards two different ways:
Select the Globe button while typing.
Select and hold the Globe button.
Android

The exact menu names may vary slightly depending on device manufacturer.
Open Settings.
Select System, then Language & input (or General management on some devices).
Select Languages or On-screen keyboard, depending on device.
Choose the language you want to add.
Open the keyboard settings (such as Gboard) and enable the language keyboard if you are prompted to do so.

Select and hold the spacebar.
macOS
Open System Settings.
Select Keyboard.
Select Edit or Add Input Source (+).
Choose the language you want to add and select Add.

Select the Input menu in the menu bar.
Select the configured shortcut key (commonly Ctrl + Spacebar).
Windows 11 and Windows 10
Open Settings.
Select Time & language, then Language & region.
If the language you want to use is not already installed, choose Add a language and install that language.
Select the Language options (...) button for the new language, then add the language keyboard.

Select the language indicator in the Windows taskbar (for example, ENG or ESP).
Select Windows + Spacebar.
