Entering Results - Individual Student Scores with Manual Entry

Use the Individual Student Scores option to record a score for each student, rather than a count of how many students reached each achievement level. You set score thresholds, and Outcomes places each student's score on the results scale for you.

This gives you student-level detail behind your results. Faculty can enter scores they already have, such as grades on a paper or exam, and Outcomes handles the sorting into achievement levels. That saves time and applies the same cut scores to every student.

When you enter results for an assessment, Outcomes offers two ways to record them:

  • Total Achievement Levels: The number of students that reached an achievement level

  • Individual Student Scores: A score for each student through Manual Entry or LMS import

This article covers the Individual Student Scores through Manual Entry option.

Before You Begin

  1. Complete the Assessment Template with the Result Type of Individual Student Scores.

  2. Ensure you are working in the course section. The Course Roster import pulls students enrolled in the course section you are working in, for the selected term.

  3. Have your scores ready. Know whether your scores are percentages or points, and decide on the minimum score for each achievement level.
