Performance Results Scale

Institutions can have one Performance Results Scale. However, the Performance Results Scale determines how many scale units there are while thresholds decide where cutoff points for each category are for an individual assessment. This means that thresholds are customizable and set at the individual assessment level.

Configuration of the Performance Results Scale is required for Outcomes for Blackboard provisioning. After provisioning of Outcomes, to make any changes to the Performance Results Scale, reach out to support to resync with Outcomes.

Configure Performance Results Scale

  1. Select Admin in the navigation menu to open Administrator Tools.

  2. In the Courses section, select Terms.

  3. Select the annual term.

  4. In the Performance Results Scale section, select Open Performance Results Scale configuration.

  5. In the Outcome Scale panel, adjust your scale items.

    • You can add or remove scale items, but you must have between two and five scale items.

    • For each scale item, set the name (such as Exceptional, Good, Moderate, etc.) and set the default thresholds. Instructors can adjust the thresholds for individual assignments.

  6. To make the Performance Results Scale available for use for instructors, turn on Published.

  7. Select Save.
