Biometric and login enhancements - FTW login. Now available to users authenticating via Force Web Login.

Bug fixes
Redundant LTI authentication prompts in Blackboard Ultra. When accessing Google Workspace content, users are no longer prompted to re‑authenticate their Google account for each item after they are signed in.
Discussion item in Calendar screen. A Discussion item navigates to corresponding Ultra page instead of showing error message.
Android
Bug fix
Activity Stream shows old announcement data. Stream now shows correct content when viewing new announcements.
Video Studio permission dialog loop. User can now proceed to feature's functionality instead of being re-prompted with a permission dialog.
Crash on opening large-content announcements. Large-content announcements no longer crash from transaction size limits.

Splash Screen image update. The splash screen image displayed during app launch is updated for mobile devices. The new design reflects the Blackboard company’s new branding.

Bug fix
Unable to open files in Original Course View on Blackboard App. After selecting a file in Original Course View, a white screen appears and no further action occurs. The file does not open.

Improved native mobile app login experience. We have enhanced the Blackboard App login experience to include biometric login capabilities and clearer communications to stay logged in. These features improve the user experience while maintaining robust security. This update is for mobile login only.
Localized numeric grade formatting. Grades now respect the user’s language and locale settings, displaying numeric values using the appropriate decimal separator.

Modernized bottom navigation for Liquid Glass displays. Rebuilt bottom navigation to ensure full compatibility and proper rendering with the new iOS Liquid Glass–style system UI, improving visual stability and touch accuracy.
Bug fix
Jones & Bartlett content launch on iPhone. Content from Jones & Bartlett 4th Edition failed to open, preventing LTI content from launching correctly in Blackboard App.

Organization filter retention. Filters and search preferences persist across sessions on the Organization landing page.
Enhanced navigation. Slimmer nav bar auto-hides when scrolling down, reappearing when scrolling up.
Improved offline content flow. When offline, the app redirects to the offline screen to access downloaded content or shows a no content message.

Open App option on YouTube player doesn’t open video on Blackboard App.

Can't add file from Google Drive using insert content.
Course filters remain active after removal in Arabic.
Language support
The language localization of the app is inherited from the device OS language setting, not the Blackboard LMSuser language preference. Localization affects the language of the native user interface, but it does not affect course content.

Students can follow these steps to download and install the Blackboard app.
From your device, access the appropriate online store.
App Store® on your iPhone® or iPod touch®
Google Play™ on your Android® device
Search for Blackboard.
Install the Blackboard app on your mobile device.
Open the Blackboard app and search for the full name of your institution.
If you’re unable to find your institution, try modifying your search. If your school is part of a larger institution or district, try searching for that name instead.
Log in with your Blackboard LMS username and password. These are typically the same credentials you use to access your Blackboard LMScourses on a computer.
