Learning Object Repository Adoption Plan
Identify Course-Agnostic Materials: The first step is to identify reusable materials that are used across multiple courses. Materials used across multiple courses benefit from being centrally managed so that when they need to be updated, the updates can be pushed out to all the courses or organizations that are using them. For example, academic citation guides, technology requirements, course etiquette, discussion guidelines, AI Policy, Academic Integrity Policy, and others.
Not Subject-Specific: These materials are not directly tied to the content of a particular course but are considered essential for students across different disciplines.
Safe for Automatic Updates: These materials can be updated without causing issues for students who might be working on a course that has already ended.
Copy Materials into the Learning Object Repository: Copy the materials that are currently being used in courses or organizations that should be stored in the Learning Object Repository.
Adjust: We've made changes to the authoring experience. This is a great opportunity to review the content and rebuild the following:
Multi Column Layouts
Knowledge Checks
Video Studio
File Attachments
Update any template courses to use learning objects.
Configure SIS Integration to create new courses based on template courses using learning objects.
Edit a learning object and all courses will receive the update.
