What can I do with a badge?

If you've received a digital badge from Milestone, you may be wondering what you can do with it. If you're not familiar with digital badges, you may want to read our badges overview first. When you earn a badge, it means you've shown you have the skills needed for that badge. Badge information is linked to your email address, proving your achievement to others.

There are several things you can do with your badge:

  • Download the badge for posting in compatible platforms

  • Include the badge in your Achievement Studio account

  • Share the badge on social media or professional networks

Uploading Badges to other Open Badges-compatible Platforms

Once you've downloaded your badge from the email you received from Milestone, you can upload it to any platform that supports Open Badges. These platforms, sometimes called "badge backpacks," let you share your badges. The steps to upload your badge will differ depending on the platform, so check their help guides for instructions.

Achievement Studio is a platform where you can store and show off your badges. If you got your badge from Milestone, it will automatically appear in Achievement Studio when you sign in for the first time. To sign in, you need to register an account. Make sure to use the same email address you received the badge at during registration to access your badge online.

Displaying Badges on Achievement Studio

Badges in Achievement Studio are displayed through Collections. Visit our support page on Collections for more information on how they work and how to set yours up.

Sharing Badges on Social Media or Professional Networks

If you have an Achievement Studio account, log in and go to the Badges page. Select the badge you want to share, then use the buttons for X (Twitter), Facebook, or LinkedIn. For LinkedIn, there are several ways to display your badge, so check out our instructions for sharing on LinkedIn.
