Evaluate Settings
The Settings page gives institutions a central place to configure how Blackboard Evaluate behaves. From here, administrators can manage thresholds, data export options, and reporting features, all in one location. This guide covers how to access the Settings page and how to use each available feature.
Access the Settings page
Access to the Settings page is permission-based. Before a user can view or configure any settings, they must be granted the appropriate permission by an institutional administrator. To grant access:
Navigate to the user's role or permission set in Evaluate.
Locate the Settings page permission.
Enable the permission for the roles that should have access (typically administrators).
Once the permission has been granted, users will have the Settings page as an option in their navigation menu.
Threshold Management
Threshold Management lets administrators set a minimum number of responses required before Faculty Reports are released.
Open the Settings page.
Locate the Threshold Settings section.
Enter the minimum response count required to meet your institutional policy (for example, 7 responses).
Select Save Settings.
Once you save the minimum response count, Evaluate will only release Faculty Reports for courses that meet or exceed the configured threshold.
100% Participation Override
This setting automatically waives the threshold requirement when a course reaches full participation, even if the response count falls below the configured minimum.
Open the Settings page.
Go to the Threshold Settings section.
Turn on the Require 100% Response Rate toggle.
Select Save Settings.
This setting is especially useful for smaller courses, such as seminars or graduate programs, where low enrollment can make standard thresholds difficult to reach.
Segment Comparison Report
This setting controls institutional access to the Segment Comparison tab in Course Reports.
Open the Settings page.
Turn off the Enable Segment Comparison Report toggle.
Select Save Settings.
Once this setting has been turned off, the Segment Comparison tab will no longer appear in Course Reports for your institution.
Student Return to Course List
This setting includes a link for students on every evaluation page that returns them to their home page.
Open the Settings page.
Turn on the Enable Student Return to Course List toggle.
Save Settings
Once this setting has been turned on, the return link will appear on every page of the evaluation for students.
Student External Identifiers in Response Data Exports
This setting includes student external identifiers in response data exports.
Open the Settings page.
Turn on the Enable Student External Identifiers in Response Data Exports toggle.
Select Save Settings.
Once this setting has been turned on, future response data exports will include this field.
