Default Year Setting & Visibility to Archived Time Period

We’ve made it easier to start in the right place every time!

Now, Outcomes will automatically open to your institution’s default year—set by your admin in Time Period Management. You’ll also see a clear Default label in the dropdown, so it’s always easy to spot.

This update helps reduce confusion, saves time, and ensures you’re always working in the right year from the very beginning.

Setting a Default Year

Administrators can set a default year in Outcomes Settings > Time Period Management.

When users begin a new session in their Outcomes site, it will automatically take them to the default year. Additionally, the default year will have a Default indicator next to it in the Time Period dropdown.

Visibility to Archived Time Periods 

Now, all users—not just site admins—can view data in Archived Time Periods. Instructors and other users can easily reflect on past outcomes by referencing historical course section data to support informed decision-making.  

Access remains read-only for non-admin users, ensuring visibility for everyone while preserving data integrity through admin-only editing rights.
