Log in to Illuminate
There are two methods for logging in to Illuminate based on your institution's configuration settings:
Institutional authentication: Institutions who enabled institutional authentication for Illuminate, sign in using the same credentials used for logging into other systems at their institutions.
Native authentication: Institutions who haven't enabled institutional authentication for Illuminate use credentials created specifically for Illuminate.
Log in with institutional authentication
Go to https://illuminate.blackboard.com and select Sign In. The sign-in screen appears.
Select Sign in with your institutional account .
On the search screen, enter the name of your institution, and select it from the search results.
Your institution’s login page will appear (either Blackboard LMS or your SAML login page). Sign in with your institutional credentials.
Tip
If you can’t log in with your Blackboard LMS credentials, try resetting your password in Blackboard LMS.
Log in with native authentication
Select Sign In.
Select Sign in with your Illuminate account.
Select the region where your Blackboard LMS instance is hosted and select Continue.
Note
Your geographical location may differ from your hosting region. If you’re unsure which region you’re hosted in, ask your administrator.
Enter your Illuminate username and password and then select Sign in.
Reset password
If you are using native authentication, you can reset your password as described here.
If you're using your institutional authentication, you must contact your system administrator to reset your password.
Note
You're prompted to reset your password every 90 days.
Log in to illuminate.blackboard.com using your Blackboard Illuminate account.
Alternatively, go to your Snowflake Reader account and select Log in using the Auth0 .
Select your SaaS Hosting Region.
From the Illuminate account sign-in screen, select Don't remember your password?.
Enter your Illuminate user email into the email field.
Select Send Email. A confirmation message appears.
Check your inbox for an email from Blackboard Illuminate. If you can't find the email in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder.
In the email, select Confirm. You'll be redirected to the Change Password page.
From the Change Password page, set your new password. After you enter and confirm your new password, you'll see a message confirming the password change.
Go back to your Snowflake Reader account or illuminate.blackboard.com sign-in.

Your account must be created and activated by Blackboard Provisioning for this process to work.
