Intro: How do Programs Work?
The Programs page in Milestone lets administrators create pathways for their learners. Learners demonstrate their skill development by advancing through the program pathway. These paths are divided into a sequence of badges, which may have prerequisites. Learners submit work to earn badges. After earning a prerequisite badge, learners move on to harder challenges, showing their skill growth.

Programs work as documented for Open Badge 2.0 badges created prior to August 1, 2026. For Open Badge 3.0 badges, programs are not supported. For similar functionality, you can use the Achievement Stack as documented on the Create a Badge page.
