Generic Options
These include the basic operations that applicants and recommenders can perform on a portal. The generic options available are:
- Registration link
- Log in and Log out
- Change Password
- Forgot Password
- Profile page
- Home page
- Navigation options
Registration link
A user can register on the portal using a registration link that can be accessed from an external source or using a registration link on the portal. After the registration process, users can log on to the portal and perform operations based on the roles assigned to them.
Notes:

If a registered user does not exist as a contact in Anthology Reach, the portal user is created as a new contact record with the value of the Contact Type field as Student and the CMC Portal - Student role is assigned to the user.

If a user who registers on the portal exists as a contact in Anthology Reach, portal roles for the user are assigned based on the value of the Contact Type field of the contact.
Following is the mapping of the portal roles with the Contact Type value:
- Student is mapped to the CMC Portal – Student role
- Recommender is mapped to the CMC Portal – Application Recommender role
- Agent is mapped to the CMC Portal - Agent role

Profile page
After logging on to the portal, users can access the Profile page and update additional details. Information on the Profile page is mapped with the contact record associated with the portal user in Anthology Reach.
Home page
The home or the landing page is displayed to users when they log on to the portal. This page includes links to important operations that a portal user of type student or recommender needs to perform. Following are some of the links that are displayed on the home page:
- Create New Application
- Review Your Applications
- Go to Recommendations
Navigation options
After a user logs on to the portal, the default navigation options shipped with the portal and displayed in the header section of each portal page are:

Home icon – Click the home icon to navigate to the home page from anywhere on the portal.

Dashboard - Click the My Dashboard option to view the student dashboard that is configured by institutions to display information important for their organization and students.

User Profile icon

Click the My Profile option to view the Profile page.

Click the Consent Settings option to view and manage the consents for the portal user. For more information, see Managing Consent for Email, SMS, and WhatsApp (Real-time Journeys).

Click the Change Password option to change the password.

Application – Click the Dashboard option to view the application dashboard. This is displayed only to an applicant portal user.

Events - Click to view the Event Calendar and My Events page.

Book Appointment - Click to book an appointment using the Search by Advisor or Search Available Slot options. For more information, see Booking an Appointment on the Portal.

Recommendation – Click the Recommender Dashboard option to view the recommendation dashboard. This is displayed only to a recommender portal user.

Campus Survey - Click to view the Active Survey and Inactive Survey pages.

Agent - Click the Dashboard option to view the agent application dashboard. This is displayed only to an agent portal user.
