Understanding Formatted Properties
You can configure the format of a Normal Text type of Property of an Object related to the Country Object in a One to One or Many to One Relationship, where the Country Object is on the One side of the Relationship.
As the Country Object is on the One side of the Relationship, the Country Object is displayed as a Property in the Properties tab of the related Object Window, and the related Object is displayed as a Tab of type Object List in the Country Object Window, or as a Property in the Properties Tab of the Country Object.
In Talisma Business Administrator, the Business Administrator User can configure the following format types for a Normal Text type of Property in the Set Format dialog box:
• Phone
• ZIP/Postal Code
• Social Security Number (SSN)
|
Note You must select the Enable format setting for Text Properties option in the System Option page to configure a format for a Normal Text type of Property of an Object related to the Country Object. |
For more information on configuring the format type of a Text type of Property, and configuring the Enable format setting for Text Properties option in the System Option page, your administrator must see the Talisma Business Administrator Help.
In Talisma Client, you can create a Country Object item, and specify values for the following Properties of the Country Object for the three types of formats, Phone, ZIP/Postal Code, and Social Security Number (SSN):
• Phone Format
• ZIP/Postal Code Format
• Social Security Number (SSN) Format
|
Note You must have the Business Administration permission to view the Country Object in the Object Selector. |
For more information on the Properties of the Country Object, and specifying the format for the Properties of the Country Object, see About the Country Object.
In Talisma Client, an ellipsis is displayed for Normal Text type of Properties configured to use a format type of a Country specified in the Country Property of the related Object. When the Talisma Client User clicks on the ellipsis, or starts typing in the Normal Text type of Property, the Set Formatted Value dialog box is displayed.
In the Set Formatted Value dialog box, the Expected format field displays the format in which the value of the Normal Text type of Property should be specified. The value in the Expected format field is the value specified for the format type Property in the Country Object item.
For information about specifying a value for a Text type of Property that is configured to use the format of one of the fields, Phone Format, ZIP/Postal Code Format, or Social Security Number (SSN) Format of the related Country Object, see Specifying Values for Formatted Properties.
|
Note • In a scenario where a Property of an Object which is related to the Country Object is configured with a format, and the Relationship between the Object and the Country Object is deleted, the format of the Property will be removed. • If the Administrator updates the value of the format Properties of the Country Object in Talisma Client, the Client User must log out and log on again to view the updated value of the format Properties. |
