Prerequisites to Sync Appointments With Google Calendar

Before appointments can be synced with Google Calendar, the following settings must be enabled in Anthology Reach:

  • Settings must be configured in the Google Integration tab in the Default Configuration page. See Default Configurations.
  • The following settings must be enabled in the User's record:

    Sync Appointments with GoogleAppointments (stand alone and recurring) will be synced and displayed in the user’s Google account when this option is selected. User’s with the CMC-Business Unit Administrator or CMC-Global Business Administrator roles can enable this option.
    • Appointments that are created after enabling this option will be synced with Google.
    • To sync previously created appointments or appointments that are currently being edited but which were created prior to enabling this option, see Google Calendar Sync Administration.
    Google Calendar IDThe ID of the custom calendar with which the user’s appointments are integrated. While this field can be edited, it’s not recommended to do so.

    Instead, the administrator must include the name of the custom calendar in the Google Calendar Name field in the Default Configuration page. The value in this field will then be automatically updated.

Important: It's important that the administrator understands these prerequisites and then sets up integration with Google Calendar. Before migrating to a production scenario, it's recommended to test these settings in a sandbox environment to fully understand their behavior. Also, the administrator must be aware of the implications of how changes to these settings will affect integration with Google Calendar.
