Group and Ungroup Checks

In Anthology Finance & HCM, the transactions displayed on the Pending checks page can be grouped to create a single check, which can be printed later. The transactions that can be grouped are:

  • Transactions that have the same Payee or Bank account.

  • Transactions of the same type. For example, you cannot select a Refund and a Stipend or a Subsidiary refund transaction for grouping.

Steps to Create a Check Group

  1. Navigate to Student accounting > Student > Pending checks.

  2. Select the transactions that must be grouped and click Group checks.
  3. In the Group checks page, specify a name for the check group.

  4. Click OK.

Once the transactions are grouped, you can generate the check. The check generated will show consolidated amount and will not display separate checks for each individual transaction. The downloaded check displays Check, Student, Invoice Number, Invoice Description, Invoice Date, Amount, Currency, Total, Student Name, grouped transactions, Date, and Address information.

Note: In the case of a transaction involving multiple students but a common payee, you can opt for a group check.

Steps to Ungroup a Check

  1. Navigate to Student accounting > Student > Pending checks.

  2. Locate the transaction(s) that must be ungrouped.

  3. In the Check group field of the grouped transaction, delete the name of the check group.

The transaction will be ungrouped.
