Process Earning Lines From External Systems Batch Job

The Process earning lines from external systems batch job generates earning statements from earning lines that are marked for batch processing in the Earning Lines From External Systems Page. This batch job pushes Earning lines from External Systems to Advance payroll which includes accurate decimal places' precision for Quantity, Earning rate, Amount.

When integrated with Anthology Payroll, depending on whether the earning lines are enabled for Federal Work Study processing, the generated earning statements are sent to one of the following pages for processing employee payroll:

  • Federal Work Study Earning Statements Page - When the Federal work study flag is enabled for earning lines.

  • Commit import earnings page in Anthology Payroll (under Anthology Payroll > Periodic > Pay period) - When the Federal work study flag is disabled for earning lines.

Access Method

  • Click Module > Payroll > Earnings statement processing > Process earning lines from external systems

  • When integrated with Anthology Payroll:

    Click Module > Human resources > Integration with external systems > Setup> Process earning lines from external systems

Roles and Privileges

CMC: Payroll chief supervisor/ Payroll administrator / System administrator role - To access and run the batch job.

Note: The CMC: Payroll chief supervisor role must be assigned to the user in Anthology Finance & HCM who is authorized to process payroll for employees from the data (earning lines) received from an external system.

Note:
The Process earning lines from external systems considers the Unit Type of the line's Earning Code on its Earning Date to determine which fields are required. Specifically:
1. If the earning's Unit Type is Hours, the Quantity is required and will appear in Anthology Payroll as Hours.
2. If the earning's Unit Type is Units, the Quantity is required and will appear in Anthology Payroll as Units.
3. If the earning's Unit Type is Amount, the Quantity and Rate must not be specified, and the Amount must be specified.
Furthermore, any records sent to Anthology Payroll that fail Payroll validation (For example, earning date later than pay period end date or worker not active in identified position on earning date) will not be created as Anthology Payroll earning import transactions. In such cases, the Earning line status will be updated to Error, and the exception message will be reported.
