About Donations
Gift processors are responsible for receiving and entering donations from constituents into Raise. Donations can be entered individually, with the option to specify whether the gift includes a single allocation or multiple allocations. If a donation is associated with an existing commitment or proposal, processors can quickly search for and link the appropriate records to the donation.
Based on the number of allocations, processors can apply hard credits to distribute the gift across multiple funds. They can also add soft credit records when applicable.
Once all details are complete, the donation can be posted immediately or scheduled to be posted at a later date.
Donations can come from an individual constituent or an organization in the form of cash or gift-in-kind. They can be allocated to one or multiple funds (allocations), and associated with credits, commitments, campaigns, and appeals.
Donations result in Credits. Credits are used to identify who is receiving recognition for a donation, as well as identify the fund(s) being donated to. A credit is either a hard credit or a soft credit. Hard Credits indicate which individual Constituent or Organization has made the. Each donation must have at least one hard credit.
Soft Credits allows another individual to receive institutional recognition for that same gift. Soft Credits can be created automatically, by a Credit Share record, or manually.
A single donation can be split between multiple funds. A separate hard credit is used for each fund, with the appropriate amounts going to each fund identified on the credit. In this context, the hard credit may also be called an “allocation”.
In Anthology Raise, a Donation record can be created using one of the following methods:
- Create Donations from the Donation Entity
- Create Donation Records from a Batch
