How Security Is Managed in Anthology Student

All active staff members of Anthology Student have permission to log in to Anthology Student. You must authorize staff members to use the features in Anthology Student and its integrated products.

If you want additional security, you can also control staff member access to:

  • The data in fields (such as providing field level security for Social Security Numbers)

  • Types of documents and tasks

For example, for a staff member to edit a task in Anthology Student, the staff member must be:

  • Authorized to use Anthology Student

  • Authorized to edit tasks in Anthology Student

If policies have been enabled for tasks, the staff member must also have permission to take actions for the task.

Once you have completed the administration and configuration, you must also start Anthology Student to verify the installation and configuration.

Authorizations for the legacy interface and Student Web App are managed separately. Authorizations for the legacy interface of Anthology Student are managed in the legacy interface. Any authorization you set up for the Student Web App apply only to the Student Web App.

Security Console

You will use the Security Console to manage most of the security for the Student Web App. The Security Console is an easy-to-use interface that contains additional features for managing security, such as the feature for implementing field level security.

The Security Console is a desktop application that you install using Installation Manager or ClickOnce. Each staff member who manages security for Anthology Student must install the Security Console on their desktop.

The security configuration you specify in the Security Console is stored in the Anthology Student database.
