Automatically Add Class Sections
You can configure Anthology Student to automatically add class sections.
Anthology Student automatically adds the class section when a staff member tries to register a student for the course and either the course or waitlist has met the maximum seats. (You can configure whether Anthology Student uses the maximum for the course or the waitlist.)
Automatic Add of a Class Section by Campus
You can automatically add a class section for specific campuses. For example, you can specify it for some, but not all campuses.
By campus, you can also specify which characteristics from the original class section are used when it is added. For example, you can copy the documents and the course fee schedule, but not use the same room.

The table lists the options and attributes you can copy to the new class section.

If You Have Cross Listed Class Sections
If you select the Cross Listed Sections check box, Anthology Student also enables the Partially filled Cross Listed Class Sections list for the campus.
When you register a student and the maximum you configured for the class section or waitlist is met (depending on your configuration), it specifies the action Anthology Student takes for class sections that are partially filled and cross listed.
There are three options.
-
Create new class section and add them to a new cross listed group
-
Do not create class section
-
Move the existing class sections to a new cross listed group
Specifying the Class Sections to Add Automatically
When you configure delivery methods, you can specify class sections are automatically added for that delivery method.
You then select the delivery method when you add a class section. When a delivery method is configured for auto add, there are additional options on the Attendance Rules & Waitlist/Auto Add Class page. For example, for each class section you can specify:
-
Whether class sections are added based on the maximum for the course or waitlist (Remaining Seat Threshold Based On)
-
The maximum number of class sections that can be added
You can also view the number of class sections that have been automatically added.
How Anthology Student Determines When a Class Section or Waitlist is Full
Anthology Student does not enforce maximum class registration on cross listed courses.
When determining if a cross listed class section is full, Anthology Student uses the largest maximum set on all the cross listed classes. Anthology Student compares this value to the total number of students registered in all cross listed classes. If the combined total number of students registered is greater than the largest class maximum setting, Anthology Student considers the cross listed class section full.
Anthology Student uses the same logic above when determining if there are waitlist seats available in cross listed class sections. The number of waitlist reservations allowed will not exceed the max number of seats enforced for cross listed class sections.
