Calculation Rates

Description

Calculation rates are lookup tables used in calculations to apply specific rates to a calculation result based on the value of the result. Calculation rates typically model tax tables with individual tax rates for each bracket. Any calculation that references a calculation rate will always look up the calculation rate table after calculating the result of the calculation.

Each calculation rate must be associated with one or more calculation rate items.

Field	Description
Calculation rate	Name of the calculation rate
Calculation rate description	Long description of the calculation rate
Rate action	Determines how the calculation result is handled against the calculation rate item
Adjustment type	Option that determines how to apply Adjustment amounts to the calculation result for calculations that reference calculation rates: Apply adjustment before: add adjustment amount to the calculation result before applying rate calculations Apply adjustment after: add adjustment amount to the final result after applying rate calculations
Version	Version number for rates that are managed by the software provider. Rates with version numbers cannot be modified.
Country/region	Jurisdictional information for the rate, if applicable
State/province
Active date	First date the record is in effect
Expiry date	Last date the record is in effect
