Prerequisites for Twilio Integration

The topics in this section provide the prerequisites for integrating Anthology Reach with customer managed Twilio account.

Set Up and Configure Your Twilio Account in Reach

Customers are required to bring their own Twilio Account for integrating with Anthology Reach.

Once your account is set up in Twilio, gather the following credentials:

  • Account SID

  • Authentication Token

These credentials are required for authenticating your Twilio account with Anthology Reach.

Obtain SMS Sender Id Details

To send SMS messages through Twilio, you need a registered sender id / number. For example:

  • Long Code Number

  • Toll-Free Number

Note: Currently Reach system does not support Short Codes.

For assistance on how to procure Twilio Sender Id, refer to Twilio documentation or contact Twilio Support.

Important: Ensure your sender number complies with local messaging regulations and is approved by Twilio for messaging purposes.

Register a WhatsApp Sender Number

If your organization plans to send messages via WhatsApp, you need to have a WhatsApp Business Account and complete the WhatsApp Business onboarding process through Twilio, which includes:

  • Requesting a WhatsApp enabled sender number (typically a long code or business number).

  • Completing Facebook Business verification and WhatsApp setup steps via Twilio.

For detailed steps, visit the Twilio WhatsApp documentation or contact Twilio support through your Twilio Console.

Note: As you will be using your own Twilio account, you are responsible for managing sender numbers, verifying business information, and handling approvals for any WhatsApp templates or SMS compliance requirements.
