Page Components and Page Contents

The layout and information in a Get Started page is defined using page components and their corresponding page content.

This topic describes the various types of page components that can be used to configure a Get started page and the content format for each of the page component.

There are four types of page components that can be used to configure a Get Started page, which are as follows:

  • Quick Start Links
  • Terms to Know
  • Learn More
  • External Links

For each page component, except External Links, a corresponding page content record(s) are added, which are displayed on the Get Started page.

The following table provides information on the types of page component and page content that can be configured and displayed on the Get Started page.

Page Component Type Description Page Content
Quick Start Links

The quick start links help users to quickly navigate to frequently used features, tasks, and views.

The following types of page content can be added as quick start links:

  • Dashboard - To view dashboard of an entity.

Example: You can create a link to view the Dashboard of the logged in user.

  • Form - To view an entity form to perform a task.

Example: You can add a link to view the Student form of the Contact entity to create a new Student record.

  • View - To view an active view of an entity.

Example: You can create a link to view the Student I Follow view of the Contact entity.

Terms to Know The Terms to Know page component includes definitions of commonly used terms.
  • The page content for the Terms to Know page component is an individual record consisting of the term and definition pair.

Learn More The Learn More component consists of links to help topics and training videos.
  • The page content for the Learn More section consists of an individual record for the help topic and/or training video.

  • The Learn More content can be configured to be displayed to users who are assigned the selected security roles in the Learn More page content.

External Links

The External Links are links to external resources.

For External Links, the content information is added while creating the page component record, therefore, a separate Page Content grid is not displayed.
