Printing Documents for an Entity

You can use the Create Document option to save and print documents using the DocumentsCorePack (DCP) for MS Dynamics 365. This feature enables you to print and store a variety of documentation related to admission activities, managing tests, or in routine operations at the institution.

Following permissions are required to work with the Create Document option:

  • DocumentsCorePack Security Role
  • MSCRM-ADDONS.com AutoMerge
  • mscrm-addons general security role

Using the Create Document Option

  1. In an entity grid or sub-grid, select records that you want to store or print, and click Create Document.
    - OR -
    Select Create Document in a displayed record.
    The Documents Core Pack dialog is displayed and the templates that are available for the entity are displayed.
  2. Select or search for a template and then click Next.

    When the Create Document is selected for a single record:

    1. In the Filetype list, choose a file type.
    2. Select one of the following options:
      • Attach document
      • Print document
      • Run workflow
    3. Click Next.
      If you chose Attach document, you can preview the file attachment by clicking the document or the Preview button. Alternatively, the document is printed, or the workflow is run based on your selection in step b.
    4. Click Finish.

    When the Create Document is selected for multiple records:

    1. In the Filetype list, choose a file type.

    2. Select one of the following options:

      • Create single document - a single print document will be created for the selected records.

      • Attach document

      • Print document

      • Run workflow

    3. Click Start Batch.
      If you chose Attach document or Create single document, you can preview the generated file attachment by clicking the document or the Preview button. Alternatively, the document is printed, or the workflow is run based on your selection in step b.

    4. Click Close.

  • You can create print documents of type letter or label. If you choose a label template, in the Documents Core Pack dialog, type an appropriate value in the Label Start Position field. By default, its value is 1.
  • When you select all records in a page, you need to select one of the following options in the dialog that displays:
    Selected Page – Only records in the selected page of the grid will be processed.
    OR
    Current View – all records from all pages in the grid will be processed.
    If you choose a different page of the grid and then click Current View, the following error message will be displayed:
    error from FetchWebApi: undefined
    To avoid the error, choose the first page of the grid and then click Create Document.
