Creating a Copy of a Record
Administrators can create a copy of records of the following entities:
- Application Definition Version
- Application Registration
- Application
- Review Bundle - Content in the Applications and Reviewers tabs will not be inherited from the source bundle to the copied bundle.
- Trip
As items of these records have multiple levels of relationships with other entities, the copy functionality enables institutions to work with the copied record quickly instead of manually creating a new record with all its associated relationships.
To copy a Record, click the Copy button in the form.
For the Application Definition Version, Review Bundle and Trip entities, the name of the copied record will be prefixed with the text Copy. This will enable you to identify the copied record.
However, when you create a copy of an Application Registration or Application record, as an auto-naming convention is set by default, a prefix will not be specified in the Name field of the copied record. To locate the copied record, apply filters in the grid based on the value of the Created Date and / or Owner (i.e., the user who copied the record) fields.
Notes:
- Relationships in the original record are also copied up to 3 levels of relationships from the base entity.
- The newly created record will be displayed after the copy operation is complete. However, if an error occurs in the copying process, the original record will be displayed.
- To enable the new name of the Application Definition Version to reflect in related Application Definition Version Detail records:
In each Application Definition Version Detail record, click ApplicationDefinitionVersionDetailAutoName in the Flow menu.
OR
To apply the changed name to all related Application Definition Version Detail records, in the Advance Find dialog apply filters to select the records, then perform the above step. - The copy framework functionality is governed by logic in the following steps:
- Copy Application
- Copy Application Definition Version
- Copy Application Registration
- Copy Records
- Copy Related Records
- Copy Review Bundle
- Copy Trip
For information about these steps, see Steps.
