About Test Scores
The Test Scores grid in a contact record presents an easy way to record a student's test scores. Institutions use test score information for a variety of reasons. For instance, they are used for complying with admission formalities, analyzing student program selection patterns across admission cycles, student readiness for college or for gauging trends in specific tests.
The following test scores can be recorded by default:
- SAT - Scholastic Aptitude Test
- ACT - American College Test
- TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language
- GRE - Graduate Record Examination
- GMAT - Graduate Management Admission Test
- IELTS - International English Language Testing System
The SAT, ACT and TOEFL tests are for undergraduate admissions while GRE and GMAT are for graduate admissions. The IELTS test is required to gauge proficiency in English for university admission in the UK and other countries. The SAT and ACT test records includes logic that enables the conversion of scores in the ACT test to a SAT equivalent score, and vice versa.
Typically, test scores are imported into the system. However, you can also manually specify these scores, and multiple records of an individual test can be created.
The test score feature includes a framework to create records in tests that are not included in the above list. An administrator can create forms to records scores in new tests. Additionally, the administrator can:
- Change the conversion logic that is defined for converting scores in the ACT test to a SAT equivalent score, and vice versa.
- Create new stand-alone test types
- Create new test types that include custom conversion logic
In a student record, test scores are displayed in the Test Scores grid in the Student Records section.
