About Inbound Interests

Prospective students taking steps to identify colleges where they want admission may submit inquiry forms or apply directly for admissions. Student recruiters and associated admission staff at the institution then track and manage the interests shown by such prospective students. Recruiters use the inbound interest entity to capture and track records of such interests shown by prospective students.

For a potential student, the inbound interest feature helps to keep track of the initial source and any additional inbound interest records so that these sources can also be tapped in future recruitment cycles with a view to optimally manage student admissions.

After collating and analyzing data of historical student recruitment patterns, an institution can make decisions about optimizing their recruitment by targeting or ignoring specific media or aggressively promoting specific programs.

Functional Overview

  • The student contacts an institution via email (or any other media) or the institution purchases a list of student records from an aggregator.

  • Inbound interest records are created at the institution and are associated with an existing contact record, or a new contact record is created if it wasn’t already available.

  • Specific inbound interest records transition through the admission process and are created as lifecycle records after filtering through the institution’s auto-qualification process. This process is included in the Inbound Interest – Create Lifecycle workflow, and can be customized to an institution's requirements.

  • Inbound interest records can also be manually qualified as lifecycle records.
