Overview of IPEDS Reports
The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is a system of interrelated surveys conducted annually by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), a part of the Institute for Education Sciences within the United States Department of Education. IPEDS consists of twelve interrelated survey components that are collected over three collection periods (Fall, Winter, and Spring) each year as described in the Data Collection and Dissemination Cycle.
Human resources is one of the areas in which IPEDS collects data on postsecondary education in the United States. The human resources data measure the number and type of staff supporting postsecondary education.
Because staffing patterns vary greatly across postsecondary institutions, IPEDS measures human resources in three ways:
-
Employees by assigned position — Classifies all employees by full-time or part-time status, faculty status, and occupational activity.
-
Salaries — Includes the number of full-time instructional faculty by rank, gender, and length of contract or teaching period; total salary outlay; and fringe benefits.
-
Staff — Includes demographic and occupational characteristics for staff at institutions.

IPEDS Feature in Anthology Finance & HCM
Institutions use the Human resources module of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to capture the employee and position details.
The IPEDS feature of Anthology Finance & HCM, available in the Human Resources module, enables institutions to capture the human resource data to generate the required human resource IPEDS reports.
Note: The Workers and employees of Human Resources and Payroll modules will view IPEDS reports if "Streamlined employee entry" is enabled.
The IPEDS feature in Anthology Finance & HCM consists of:
-
IPEDS Configuration Forms - These forms are used to configure the prerequisites for generating the IPEDS reports.
For more information, refer to Configurations for IPEDS Reports for IPEDS.
-
IPEDS Reports Forms - These forms are used to generate and view IPEDS reports based on the required filter criteria.
