Categorizing a Product enables you to easily identify Product items with similar characteristics.

Example   At WorldWaves you sell home audio and video equipment. You classify your Products offered as Global and Regional. Global Products are priced in US$ and a buyer from a country outside the US must make the payment in US$. Regional Products are available in different countries and prices are maintained in the local currencies.

Ensure that you have created Categories for the Product Object, before categorizing a Product. The Categories tab displays the list of Categories available in the selected Team for the Product.

To Categorize a Product

1.  From the Edit menu, select Product.

The Product Manager is displayed.

2.  Select one or more Products in the Table View.

3.  Click Categorize.

The Categorize dialog box is displayed.

4.  Select the Team for a list of Categories created for this Product.

5.  Select the required Categories.

6.  Click OK.

7.  Click Close.

The Product is categorized.

Note  •   A Product can also be categorized from the Product window. •   Click the Properties button in the Categorize dialog box to view the list of Teams with which the selected Category is shared.
