About Talisma Profiles

A Profile is a group of settings that define how a Talisma User logs on to Talisma. Using Profiles optimizes the process of logging on to Talisma Client.

As a Talisma User, you may need only one Profile, but occasionally you may need to work with several Profiles. A User can create, remove, edit, and copy Profiles.

Your Profile name is unique to your Windows User account on your computer. If you create another Profile, you must create it with a different name. To create a Profile, click Profiles in the Talisma Login screen, or click Profiles from the Start menu, select Programs, Talisma Client <current version>.

A User Profile in Talisma comprises details of the Profile Name, Login Type, Application Server, Database Server, Database Name, Connection Type, and Internet Security.

Note

•   The default Talisma Profile is selected in the Talisma Login window when you log on to Talisma Client for the first time.

•   In a scenario where multiple Users use the same computer by using individual login accounts, you can view and modify the default Profile, and those Profiles that you have created.

•   When you log on to Talisma Client, the Talisma Login dialog box displays the Profile that you selected in the When starting Talisma, use this profile list. If the When starting Talisma, use this profile list is blank, the Talisma Login dialog box displays the Profile used when you last logged on to Talisma.

•   In the When starting Talisma, use this profile list, if the Profile selected has Trusted Security as the Login Type, your default Talisma Client window is displayed when you click the Talisma icon on the desktop or if you navigate to Talisma from the Start menu. The Talisma Login dialog box is not displayed.

In an Azure environment, Microsoft login dialogs will be displayed when you first sign on to Desktop Client. The repeated display of these dialogs is governed by Azure AD settings in Business Administrator. For more information, your administrator must see Business Administrator Help.

•   When you upgrade Talisma Client, default Talisma Profile details such as Login Type, Database Server, and Database Name details are passed on from the old version of Talisma to the current version. By default, LAN is selected as the Connection Type, and Internet Security is disabled.
