Locating a Mailer Using the Advanced Search

The advanced search feature enables you to locate specific Mailers. This search mechanism enables you to perform sophisticated search operations using changes in Mailer Properties, Campaign and base Object Properties, Mailer-related events (categorized, created, and deleted) and Mailer Properties (Author, Last Modified, Subject, Team, Title, and Usage Count) as the search criteria.

Example

There are several Mailers created in the Marketing Team. You want to locate the Mailers that your colleague Jacob Thomas has created.

To Locate a Mailer using the Advanced Search

1.  Open the Template Manager.

2.  Click Advanced. The Advanced Search dialog box is displayed.

3.  In the Object column, you can select the Object with which you are currently working, a Relationship created for the selected Object, Events, or PropertyChanges. Click More to select an Object that is related to a related Object. In this example, select “Contact.”

4.  In the Field column, select the Property of the Object selected. In this case, select “Team.”

5.  In the Operator column, select the appropriate operator. Select “=”.

6.  In the Value column, type or select the value to be located. In this example, select “Marketing” from the Teams list.

7.  In the And/Or column, select And to specify that the search needs to satisfy all the conditions specified. Select Or to specify that the search can satisfy one or more conditions specified in any row.

8.  Repeat Steps 3 through 7 to define multiple conditions. In this example, define the additional condition “Contact Owner = Jacob Thomas”

9.  Click Run. The query results are displayed in the Template Manager.

You can also perform other Operations using the Advanced Search dialog box. These include Grouping and Ungrouping.

•   Grouping

The Group option is used to combine two or more conditions with And or Or into one set according to the requirement. The Group option is enabled if you select multiple rows to prioritize a specific set of conditions over the others. To Group two or more rows:

a.  Click the first row:

Press the [SHIFT] key and click the next row, if the rows are consecutive. Press the [CTRL] key and click the next row, if the rows are random.

b.  Click Group. Grouped items are indicated by a link to the left of the grouped rows.

•   Ungrouping

The Ungroup option is enabled when you select a grouped condition. On clicking Ungroup, the selected conditions are no longer grouped.

Note

•   If you have used the default space available in the Advanced Search dialog box, you can use the scroll bar to specify additional conditions. Alternatively, you can resize the dialog box by positioning the mouse pointer at the top, or bottom edge of the dialog box and dragging it up, or down when the pointer changes to a two-headed arrow.

You can also resize the dialog box horizontally by positioning the mouse pointer at the left, or right edge, and dragging it when it changes to a two-headed arrow.

The size of the resized dialog box is unique to the logged in User, and is retained across login sessions.

•   The 'And' that is used to combine two or more conditions gains precedence over the 'Or' used to combine another set of conditions.

To Open the Template Manager

The Template Manager is displayed.
