Setting the Primary Contact for an Opportunity

Manage Opportunity - To create, edit, assign, transfer, and delete Opportunities.

The Primary Contact is the person who makes the decision to buy a Product or service from your organization. Apart from the Primary Contact, there may be other Contacts associated with the Opportunity. However, there can be only one Primary Contact associated with an Opportunity.

If you associate a Contact while creating an Opportunity, it is set as the Primary Contact, by default.

To Set the Primary Contact

1.  Using the Left pane, locate and select the required Opportunity.

2.  From the Opportunity menu, select Set, Primary Contact.

- OR -

Open the required Opportunity.

In the Properties tab, select the Contact field, and click to browse for Contacts.

The Set Contact dialog box is displayed.

3.  Select Talisma Contact File from the Search in list to search for Contacts who are registered in the Talisma system. Select the appropriate Internet Directory listed under Directory Servers on the Internet, if you have imported Contacts from Internet Directories.

4.  Specify search conditions in the For area, and click Search.

- OR -

Click Search without specifying search conditions, to view all Contacts in the Talisma system.

- OR -

Click Advanced to define advanced search conditions.

The Contacts that satisfy the specified search conditions are displayed in the Results area.

5.  Select the Contact you want to set as the Primary Contact.

6.  Click Set.

The Contact is set as the Primary Contact for the selected Opportunity, and can be viewed in the Properties tab of the Opportunity window.

Note 

•   If the Talisma Business Administrator User has created a One to One or Many to One Relationship between the Opportunity Object and another Object, you can also set an item of the related Object for the Opportunity.
