The Administrator Page
The Administrator page is displayed when you click Administrator in the icon . The page includes two sections: Global Options and Validating Object Metadata.
The Administrator link is displayed for users with the System Administration or Business Administration permissions.
The Global Options Section
Elements (objects, tabs and properties) created or updated in Business Administrator are automatically displayed in the object table view when:
• Web Client’s application pool is automatically refreshed at the scheduled time.
OR
An administrator performs a manual refresh by resetting IIS.
Administrators can also click Refresh OData Configuration to enable the same behavior. Web Client users may encounter a momentary lag before the updated information is displayed.
The OData File Version field displays the OData binary version that is generated when OData configuration is refreshed, and the Odata Model Version field displays the database-equivalent value of the element (property, tab, object, and so on) that is created or updated in Business Administrator.
Validating Object Metadata
Typically, in an upgrade environment, Web Client users may not be able to view records in the workspace table view even though they have the required permissions and privileges. In this scenario in particular and in other generic scenarios, the administrator can click Check Model Conflict to verify if there are any conflicts.
Conflicts are logged and displayed in a tabular format when the following errors occur:
• Identical text in the object name and its tab or property, or in a tab and property
• Identical text when the object and recordlist tab names are joined
• Identical text when the object and relationship property tab names are joined
• Pluralized names of enumerated properties are identical
• Reserved word conflict
• Pluralized names of objects are identical
Note
• The first five errors can be resolved by changing element names (property or tab name) in Business administrator. To resolve conflicts of identical object names, the administrator needs to modify conflicting object name in Main database.
• Click Export as Excel or Export as PDF to export the logged conflict data as files to your local computer. The files are saved with the name Conflict Data.xlsx or Conflict Data.pdf.
