The Audit Configuration feature in CampusNexus CRM allows you to optimize system performance, and help monitor data that is critical to your business. This feature enables you to configure the audit of various system and custom defined object properties, and events in CampusNexus CRM.

You can use the advanced settings to configure the audit at the individual property, and event levels.

You cannot configure Audit for the following objects:

•   Message

•   Health Check

Understanding the Audit Behavior in CRM

The following list describes the way in which the Audit Configuration feature works in CampusNexus CRM:

•   For every newly created property, event, and custom object (along with its associated properties and events), auditing is set to OFF, by default.

•   When you disable audit for a property or event, CampusNexus CRM checks whether the selected property or event is being used by a Filter or Report. If yes, the Audit Dependency dialog box is displayed, which lists all dependencies for that property or event.

•   You can disable audit for a property associated with an event that is audited. In this scenario, because audit is disabled for the property, only the event is audited.

For example, when you enable audit for an Interaction Assign event, and disable the audit of Interaction Assigned To property, only the event is audited but the property is not audited.

•   You can disable audit for an event associated with a property that is audited. In this scenario, as audit is disabled for the event, only the property audit is tracked as a part of property change event.

For example, when you disable audit for the Contact Create event and enable audit for the Contact Name property, only the Contact Name property is audited, but not the property change event.

•   When you disable audit for all properties and events, new audit entries are not added to the audit table.

•   While auditing RecordList properties, only row additions and modifications are audited, and the deletion of a row is not audited.

•   Auditing is set to ON by default, for all properties of Health Check objects. You cannot change this configuration.

Impact of Audit Configuration on Analytics and Filters

The behavior of Analytics and Filters as a result of configuring audit is described below:

Analytics

Analytical information, which is dependent on properties and events for which audit is disabled, is not displayed from the time audit was disabled.

Filters

Filters, dependent on properties and events for which audit is disabled, do not display filtering details from the time audit was disabled.
