About Archiving Objects
Archiving refers to the action of moving historical data, or data that is not in use, to a different database. Archiving custom object items at periodic intervals releases valuable storage space on computers in your organization. This enables you to lower costs as you can administer your hardware resources efficiently by postponing the acquisition of extra storage space.
You can archive the following objects:
• Interactions
• Campaigns
• Higher Education Foundation objects
• Custom objects
Prior to archiving Interactions or Campaigns, ensure that Archive database is installed. You can then set archiving options for Interactions, Campaigns and custom objects.
When you archive Interactions, the corresponding Sub Interactions and Messages linked to the Interactions are archived. When you archive Campaigns, the associated Targets are also archived.
You can set the archive interval. The archive operation will take place based on the last event updated for an object. You can run queries on Archive database, create Filters and generate reports based on the archived data.
Database operations such as attaching, detaching and moving can be performed on Archive database.
