Modify Objects and Property Mappings

To achieve synchronized integration of data between the CampusNexus CRM and Anthology Student systems, data structured in one system must be translated to the other systems’ structure.

Connector completes this translation by first changing data from the source system to a generic structure stored in Connector, and then finally changing the generic structure to the target system’s structure.

This two-step transformation is carried out by referring to mappings for each Object and its Properties that are stored in XML format.

Along with the two configuration files, two XML mapping files are created under the installation path when you install the Connector Service Manager.

The mapping files contain mappings of Objects and Object Properties to support the productized integration of data between Anthology Student and CampusNexus CRM. The two mapping files are:

  • FieldMapConfig.CampusVueAgent.xml - This file contains mapping from the SIS structure to the CRM structure.

  • FieldMapConfig.TalismaAgent.xml - This file contains mapping from the CRM structure to the SIS structure.

As the system administrator, you may at certain instances choose to modify or even completely delete an Object’s or an Object property’s mapping that is no longer required.

Before you start to modify or delete an Object or Property Mapping, ensure that you have the following three pieces of information:

  • Object or Property ID in Anthology Student

  • Object or Property’s generic structure ID in Connector

  • Object or Property ID in CampusNexus CRM

Modify or Delete an Object or Property Mapping

  1. Back up the XML Mapping File(s).

  2. Execute services.msc at the command prompt to open Windows Services.

  3. Stop the Campus Connector Windows Service.

  4. Edit the two XML mapping files and save them. To do so:

    1. Locate the two custom XML mapping files in the installed path, C:\Program Files\CMC\C2000\CampusVue Connector.

    2. Modify the two XML mapping files to edit or delete an Object or Property mapping and save the files.

  5. Right-click the service, and then click Start.
