Custom Integration Framework

A third level of data integration between the two systems that the Connector Framework supports is the Custom Integration.

There are objects, other than the Student Object, in Anthology Student that a school may choose to integrate with CampusNexus CRM. These objects are not supported in the out-of-the-box integration and cannot be handled through the School Defined Field integration.

In such cases, Anthology Inc. Professional Services can assist you with the integration of such objects in Anthology Student. For instance, you may have a requirement to integrate the Financial Aid Packaging Status of a Student from Anthology Student to CampusNexus CRM. This information is stored in Anthology Student and is neither an out-of-the-box integration, nor part of the School Defined Field integration.

With guidance from Anthology Inc. Professional Services team, you would analyze the integration requirement, determine the direction of data flow, and then implement the integration plan. Thus, you enable this integration utilizing the Custom Integration Framework.

The Custom Integration Framework involves first making modifications at the two systems separately to meet the integration requirement. After the two systems are modified, you modify the four XML mapping files, to enable the Connector Framework to correctly integrate data between the modified systems. As a result, changes made are throughout the integrated system infrastructure.

In Custom Integration Framework, the tasks you need to carry out in the following sequence, under the guidance of Anthology Inc. Professional Services, are:

  1. Determine the integration requirement(s).

  2. Determine the integration direction(s).

  3. Modify Anthology Student to meet integration requirement(s).

  4. Modify CampusNexus CRM to meet integration requirement(s).

  5. Modify Connector XML mapping files to meet integration requirement(s).

  6. Test integration between the two systems.
