ISIR Print 2024-25 and Beyond

You can use the ISIR Print 2024-25 and Beyond page to print the imported ISIRs for award years 2024-25 and later in a batch rather than one at a time. The printed ISIR for 2024-25 conforms to the print specifications documented in the 2024-25 FAFSA Simplifications Guide.

You can:

  • Use the Process tab to specify the selection criteria

  • Use the History tab to view/print batches

Prerequisites

You must have the following authorization:

  • Common - Processes - View

  • Financial Aid - Processes - ISIR Print - Print Student ISIR

Regulatory US 25.4.0 introduces campus-level security for the ISIR Print 2024-25 and Beyond so that the History tab displays only records specific to the logged-in user.

This enhancement requires the following configuration:

  1. In Settings > System > Campuses > Campus Groups, select a Campus Group (or create one) that only has the campus that the user needs permission for.

  2. In Settings > System > Staff, select your Staff member, and on the General tile, ensure the Campus Group for the user is the Campus Group from step 1.

Access Method

Select the Processes tile > expand Financial Aid > select ISIR Print 2024-25 and Beyond.

Selection Criteria

  1. Select a School Code or accept the session default.

  2. Select an Award Year or accept the session default.

  3. (Optional) In the Date Received: From field, enter or select the begin date of the time period for which you want to gather ISIR print batches.

  4. (Optional) In the To field, enter or select the end date of the time period for which you want to gather ISIR print batches.

Make sure that ISIRs have been received and imported in the date range selected. You can run the ISIR Summary report (refer to ISIR Summary Report) to determine if any ISIRs have been received and imported in the specified date range.

  5. Select a Campus or accept the session default. When a group of ISIRs is printed, the system filters the ISIRs by the campuses the logged in user has access to.

The Campus Selections grid displays only campuses here the PellID or First College Choice of the campus is populated in the SyCampus table.

You can use the No campus associated option to select ISIRs that:

    • Have a matching PellID or First College Choice

      AND

    • Have been imported into Anthology Student to the default campus that does NOT have the same PellID or First College Choice as the ISIR.

  6. (Optional) Select a Student GroupClosed The name of the student group. If your institution has configured Anthology Student to limit groups to campuses, you can only select groups for the campus to which you are assigned. The list can also be filtered to display groups where you are the owner, public groups, and private groups to which you have been given access..

Student groups can include multiple campuses, multiple school codes, and multiple receive dates. When you select a student group:

    • The Results section lists ISIRs that meet both the selection criteria and are included in student group.

    • The cohort of students that is being evaluated will be limited to only those student records that are part of the group.

  7. Select the Next button.

The Selection Criteria section will be collapsed and the Results section will be expanded.

Results

  1. The Results section displays a grid with the following columns:

CampusClosed The campus or campuses to which a person or item is assigned. It is filtered to display the campuses to which you have access. In some cases, it is also used to filter a list to only those items for the campus. In some lists, you can select more than one campus or select All. In lists that display columns, if the column contains more than one campus, you cannot sort or filter on that column.

Dependency StatusClosed Indicates whether a student is dependent, independent, or undetermined. The field displays the status from the student's FAFSA or ISIR. If you add a Federal Direct Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) loan or Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) as a fund source and the status is undetermined, Anthology Student displays a message asking you if you want to change the student to a dependent.

ISIR Received DateClosed The date when the institution received or imported the item submitted by the student, or by persons and organizations connected with the student.

Provisional SAIClosed Students can indicate on the FAFSA form that they have unusual circumstances that prevent them from providing parental data. If parental data is not provided, the students receive a provisional status as an independent student and a provisional SAI calculation. The record will be rejected, pending further action from the student’s FAA. You will have to review the student’s situation.

RejectClosed Reject reason codes indicate inconsistencies or missing data on the student’s FAFSA. Reject reason codes can be alpha or numeric codes. Alpha codes indicate reject reasons that are verifiable — that is, the student can verify the questionable data by re-entering the same value, or can correct it to a different value. Numeric codes are not verifiable; the questioned data must be changed or provided. In all reject situations, the questioned information is highlighted on the SAR, and an EFC is not calculated. For award years 2024-25 and later, the EFC is replaced with the Student Aid Index (SAI).

SAIClosed The Department of Education uses the FAFSA/ISIR to collect information and determine an applicant’s Student Aid Index (SAI) by conducting a "need analysis" based on the student's information. The SAI measures the financial strength of the student's family and is used to determine the student's eligibility for federal student aid (grants and loans). Other agencies, such as states and schools, may use this information to award other types of aid.

StudentClosed The last and first name of the student. In some lists, the name of the student is highlighted. If it is highlighted, you can select the link, and it will display the Student Profile or a page available from the profile (such as their Documents list in Contact Manager). To display the Student Profile, you must have Common - Student - View authorization. If the link takes you to a page available from the profile, you must have authorization for that page. For example, if it displays the Documents list, you must have Contact Manager - Student Document - View authorization.

Transaction IDClosed Transaction Identifier of the ISIR record.

Verification GroupClosed Students who are selected for verification are placed in groups (V1, V4, etc.) to determine which information must be verified.

By default, the records are sorted by ISIR Received Date in ascending order.

  2. Select the ISIR batches you want to print. You can select and print single or multiple ISIRs.

    • To select specific records, select the check boxes in the first column of the respective rows.

    • To select all records on the page, select the check box in the header row.

  3. Select the Queue ISIR Print button. The Queue Batch window is displayed.

  4. The Queue Batch window displays the default Batch Name. You can edit the Batch Name.

  5. In the Print Signature Page field, select Yes or No to indicate whether you want to print the ISIR signature page.

  6. In the Print FTI field, select Yes or No to indicate whether you want to print the Federal Tax Information (FTI) associated with the student's record.

  7. Select the Queue button to queue the batch print job. The following message appears: "The ISIR Print Batch was successfully queued."

History Tab

Regulatory US 25.4.0 introduces the "Enable Campus Level Security on Batches" feature. When this feature is enabled, the records on the History tab will be filtered based on the logged-in user and the set of campuses from campus groups associated with this user. The filtering of records on the History tab is based on the SyCampusId. Records with a NULL value in the CampusID field will be visible to all users. CampusID = NULL is assigned to records that are not in Succeeded status (e.g., Completed, Enqueued).

A clean-up script ensures that batches on the History tab that were created before the implementation of the campus-level security feature are also filtered based on the new campus-level security. The script runs at the batch level per process and assigns SyCampusId values to the records in the batch.

For the Application Data Import process, the clean-up script updates student records with a valid ISIR based on the student’s latest active enrollment campus. When a student has multiple enrollments, the script updates the CampusID to the latest enrollment campus even if the student record was originally imported for a different campus.

For Application Data Exports, the clean-up script retains the Campus Name of the original record.

Unmatched student records, failed batches, and error reports for ISIR imports are visible to all users, including users with limited campus access. For users with limited access, the record numbers in the batches grid (top) and details grid (bottom) may not always match.

If the registry key setting "Enable Campus Level Security on Batches" is turned off under Settings > System > General, the History tab will load the records based on the default campus setting (Session Defaults).

The registry key setting is available in Anthology Student 25.1.0 and later.

Batches

The History tab displays the results of queued jobs.

  1. The Batches section displays a grid with the following columns:

Batch NumberClosed The number/ID assigned by Anthology Student to the batch. Based on the selection criteria, the job processes data and creates batches asynchronously in the background.

DurationClosed The amount of time it took to process the job or batch.

File PathClosed The file path for a generated file, the location where an export file is stored, or the path for internal and external transfers for both Azure Cloud and FTP.

Last Retry DateClosed Indicates the details of the last attempt made to retry batch processing. Shows the date and time when the deleted jobs within the batch were last resubmitted for processing. Blank if a retry has never been requested.

NameClosed The name of the item (e.g., data set, batch, job, process, task, person, organization, entity, file).

Record CountClosed The number of records in the batch.

ResultsClosed If the job succeeded, the field is empty. If the job failed, the field has a "Details" link. Select the link to view the reason for the failure.

Started DateClosed The date and time when the batch job was queued

StatusClosed A status of Preparing indicates that the jobs in the batch are still being created or are waiting on the system resources required to create them. Started indicates that the batch has been started. (At least one job in the batch is Enqueued, Processing, Succeeded, or Deleted.) Succeeded indicates all jobs in the batch have been executed, and ALL job statuses are Succeeded. Completed indicates all jobs in the batch have been executed; some jobs may be in the Succeeded status, but at least one of the jobs is in the Deleted status. Awaiting indicates the batch is awaiting the completion of a dependent job or batch. Deleted indicates that the batch has been canceled.

Submitted ByClosed The name of the staff member who submitted the background job or batch for processing.

By default, the records are sorted by Started Date in descending order.

  2. Select the refresh icon (Refresh button) in the footer of the grid to retrieve the current status of the background jobs.

  3. If the job status is "Completed" and there is a "Details" link in the Results column indicating that the job did not succeed, you can select the Retry Batch button in the grid toolbar to resubmit the job.

This option can be useful if an error occurred after the job was submitted (for example, network issues or SQL database cannot be reached).

  4. To remove a failed batch, select the Cancel Batch button in the grid toolbar.

  5. Select the batch you want to print and select the View/Print ISIR button in the grid toolbar. The ISIRs are displayed in a new browser tab.

One combined PDF is generated when multiple ISIRs are selected. Print the ISIR(s) as needed.

  6. For a job with a status of Succeeded, select the link in the Batch Number column to review the student records contained in the batch.

The <Batch Name> section is displayed. This section provides details about all the student records included in the batch print job.

<Batch Name>

  1. The fields above the <Batch Name> grid display the following information about the batch:

Award YearClosed The financial aid award year associated with the record.

Batch NumberClosed The number/ID assigned by Anthology Student to the batch. Based on the selection criteria, the job processes data and creates batches asynchronously in the background.

File NameClosed Indicates the name of the generated file.

Process DateClosed The date and time when the job was processed

School CodeClosed Unique codes assigned by the Department of Education for schools participating in the Title IV federal student aid programs. Students can enter these codes on the FAFSA to indicate which schools they want to receive their financial application results. The School Codes are configured in Anthology Student under Campus Setup > Locations. A Federal School Code is always six characters: 0 (zero), G, B, or E, and a 5-digit number. Anthology Student supports only numeric school codes. If the Federal School Code for your institution contains the letter G, B, or E, replace the letter with a zero (0).

User NameClosed The last and first name of the staff member or process that added or created the item.

  2. The <Batch Name> grid has the following columns:

CampusClosed The campus or campuses to which a person or item is assigned. It is filtered to display the campuses to which you have access. In some cases, it is also used to filter a list to only those items for the campus. In some lists, you can select more than one campus or select All. In lists that display columns, if the column contains more than one campus, you cannot sort or filter on that column.

CClosed Identifies transactions that were sent automatically to the institution. Blank indicates that the transaction was not automatically sent. Y indicates that the transaction was automatically sent.

FPS Pushed ISIR FlagClosed Identifies transactions that were sent automatically to the institution. Blank indicates that the transaction was not automatically sent. Y indicates that the transaction was automatically sent.

ISIR Received DateClosed The Date ISIR Received field indicates the date the ISIR was imported into the school’s EDExpress software.

PEFCClosed Primary Estimated Family Contribution (PEFC) is the EFC calculated by taking the income information provided by the student, based on his/her dependency model and whether he or she meets Simplified Needs, and applying it to the formula written by Congress. For award years 2024-25 and later, the EFC is replaced with the Student Aid Index (SAI).

Process DateClosed The date and time when the job was processed

When the "Enable Campus Level Security on Batches" feature is enabled, the grid will display only records for students with the latest active enrollments at the campuses associated with the logged-in user.

For example, a batch may contain records for 10 students enrolled at different campuses. The Batches grid (at the top of the page) will indicate 10 records in the batch. For a user with limited campus access, the details grid (at the bottom of the page) will list only the records for students with an active enrollment at the logged-in user's campus. Therefore, the number of records in the details grid may not match the number of records in the batches grid.

  3. To view the Student Profile for a record, select the link on the student's name. The Student Profile page for the selected record is displayed in a new browser tab if you have permission to view student data.
