Credit Card Types

Using the Credit Card Type page, you can configure the credit card types that are accepted by your institution. Anthology Student accepts the following Credit Card Types for deposits, agency, and student payments:

  • A - American Express
  • C - Carte Blanche
  • D - Discover
  • I - Diners Club
  • M - MasterCard
  • V - Visa

In Admission Deposit reports, Cash Receipt Detail, and Credit Card Transactions, credit card descriptions are displayed from the Credit Card Types list.

You can add, edit, and delete a credit card type.

Prerequisites

To view the page, you must have Student Accounts - Configuration - View authorization.

To edit the page, you must have Student Accounts – Configuration - Manage authorization.

To edit an item associated with more than one campus, you must have access to all the campuses. For example, if the item is configured to be available at three campuses and you only have access to two of the campuses, you can view the item but cannot edit it. When you add an item, you can only select campuses to which you have access.

You cannot edit a credit card that is system-defined, that is, credit cards with System set to Yes.

Access Method

Select the Configuration tile > expand Student Accounts > select Credit Card Types.

Filters

By default, the grid displays all records for the campuses you are authorized to work with. You can use the drop-down at the top of the page to display only records for a specific campus.

Procedure to Add or Edit Items

  1. Review the values of the records in the grid.

  2. If you want to:

    • Add a list item, select the New button on the toolbar

    • Edit a list item, select the item name in the list

  3. Review, specify, or change the following values.

    ActiveClosed Specifies whether the associated record is active.

    CodeClosed The alphanumeric code assigned to the item by your institution. In most cases, codes must be unique. Select or assign the code for this item.

    NameClosed The name of the item (e.g., data set, batch, job, process, task, person, organization, entity, file).

  4. Select one or more campuses that you will associate with the credit card type.

  5. In Campuses, review the values.

    NameClosed The campus that you will associate with the credit card.

    Requires ValidationClosed Indicates that the selected campus requires credit card validation for payments. When you select the specified campus for a payment, Anthology Student validates the credit card payment.

  6. To associate a validation rule with a campus:

    • In the toolbar of the Campuses grid, select Add.

    • Select the campuses that you will associate with the credit card type and select the Select button.

    • Select the new field in the Requires Validation column and select Yes to require that validation rules are applied to credit card payments for the campus.

  7. To remove the validation rule requirement for a campus:

    • In the toolbar of the Campuses grid, select Remove. The campus is removed from the list.

      — OR —

    • Select the field in the Requires Validation column and select No so that validation rules are no longer applied to credit card payments for the campus.

  8. If you want to save and: 

    • Continue making changes, select the Save button

    • Continue to add another item to the list, select the Save & New button

    • Close, select the Save & Close button
