Workforce Pell Fees

You can use the Workforce Pell Fees tab on the Program Versions page to add and delete records for Workforce Pell Fees. Beginning with the 2026-27 award year, Workforce Pell enables students to use Federal grant funds to enroll in high-quality, short-term programs that offer education in high-skill, high-wage or in-demand industry sectors or occupations.

When a student is Workforce Pell Eligible, the school must include tuition and fees for the student's workforce program in the Pell Grant export through the <WorkforcePellTuitionAndFees> tag. Schools configure the tuition and fees amount per program version and award year on the Workforce Pell Fees tab. For more details about the <WorkforcePellTuitionAndFees> tag, refer to Workforce Pell Tuition and Fees (WPTF).

Prerequisites

You must have Financial Aid - Configuration - Manage authorization.

Access Method

Select the Configuration tile > expand Financial Aid > select Program Versions.

Procedure to Add or Edit Program Costs

  1. If not already selected, select the Program Version in the grid.

  2. Select the Workforce Pell Fees tab.

  3. If you want to:

    • Add a record, select the Add button on the grid toolbar and specify the following values:

      Award YearClosed The financial aid award year associated with the record.

      Effective DateClosed The first date the program costs can be used. If needed, you can have more than one effective date, but the effective dates must be unique. For example, if you add records with effective dates of 01/01/2018 and 02/01/2018, the costs in the record for 01/01/2018 are only used until 02/01/2018.

      Tuition and FeesClosed Cost of tuition and fees for a program per award year.

      Date ModifiedClosed The date when the item was changed. On some pages, the date also includes the timestamp.

      Modified ByClosed The name or user ID of the person who changed the item.

      The Tuition and Fees field accepts a single total full-time, full-year direct cost amount. The Awards form will display the configured amount as a read-only field on the Pell Grant fund source.

    • Remove a record, select in the record in the grid and select the Remove button.

  4. If you want to save and: 

    • Continue making changes, select the Save button

    • Close, select the Save & Close button
