International
You can use the International page to add, edit, and update information and documentation related to international (non-immigrant) students and exchange visitors.
If your institution has configured Anthology Student to extract and transmit information to SEVIS, you can also use the page to:
-
Specify or change the information required by SEVIS (such as their US and foreign address)
-
Communicate other changes for a student with SEVIS (such as when the program is complete)
-
Review their status and transmission history
It provides a compact view of information related to the international students in relevant sections.
-
General: Includes essential student and immigration information, such as Visa Type.
-
Student Information: Includes basic information about the international student.
-
F-1/M-1 Information: Includes immigration information for an F-1 (Academic) or M-1 (Vocational) visa type. The F-1/M-1 tab is displayed only if you select F-1 or M-1 in the Visa Type field.
-
J-1: Includes immigration information for J-1 visa types. This tab is displayed only if you select J-1 in Visa Type.
-
Immigration Information: Displays immigration information for all international visa types.
-
Dependent Information: Includes information about the international student's dependents and includes funds required for the dependents.
-
Transmission Information: Displays transmission information for the international student with an F-1, M-1, or J-1 immigration visa type.
-
Employment Authorization: Displays internship or training application information for an international student.
-
Address: Includes the United States (US) address and the foreign address of the international student.
The selection of "All Program Versions" is not supported.
The automatic addition of academic year sequences requires that the program version be fully configured. If you try to add an academic year sequence automatically and the message "Academic Year sequences have not been added for the program version" is displayed, it indicates that the academic year sequences have not been configured in the program version under Term Association.
You can use the page to add the information for international students (such as their foreign address, US address, and their dependents). If your institution is using Anthology Student to extract data and export data to the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), the information on this page will be sent to SEVIS.
If your institution has configured the campus to also require review by the Designated School Officials (DSOs) or Responsible Officers (ROs), the information must be reviewed and accepted or rejected before they are sent to SEVIS in the next SEVIS transmission.
When the status is R (Ready to be transmitted), the information will be sent to SEVIS in the next SEVIS transmission.
Some of the actions cannot be performed, and some of the fields will be disabled until the student has been exported and accepted by SEVIS. Once accepted, the Trans Status will be changed to A, the SEVIS ID field will show their ID with SEVIS, and you can update the information and take the actions. For example, you will be able to add employment information and notify SEVIS when their program is complete. For students with a Trans Status of A, refer to Manage Records for Students Accepted by SEVIS.
Prerequisites
You must have:
- To view or edit information, Contact Manager - Student International - View or Edit authorization
Your institution must have configured the campus to:
- Accept international students
- Extract data to SEVIS and configured the options for SEVIS
To add the information for a student, the student must still have a Transmission Status of:
- Blank
- R (Ready to be Transmitted)
- D (Ready for DSO Review)
If the status is E, indicating the student was not accepted by SEVIS, you can change the status back to R again to make the corrections or add any missing data.
For an international student to be accepted by SEVIS, these values must be completed on their Student Profile.
- Last Name
- First Name
- Middle Name (if applicable)
- Gender
- DOB
- Email
- Address (If you did not specify their address on their Student Profile, you can specify it on this page as well.)
Additionally, for F-1/M-1 visa type students, your institution must have configured the following authorizations:
-
Common - Student - View authorization
-
Financial Aid - Student Academic Year - Calculate authorization
-
If the student received financial aid from a previous institution, you should use the NSLDS tile to add the NSLDS award information before you use the Awarding tile to award aid so that Anthology Student can determine if there are overlapping loan periods and validate the awards. For more information, refer to the Background for Overlapping Loans and NSLDS.
-
The student must be enrolled, and the program version must be configured to allow financial aid packaging.
Access Method
Select the Students tile > select the name in the Students list > expand Contact Manager > select the International tile.
-
Under General, review and specify the values.

Enrollment Status Select the enrollment status to which the academic year applies. The values are Less Than Half Time, Half Time, 3/4 Time, Full Time, and Default. If you select Default, Anthology Student uses the values for any enrollment status that you do not configure as a fallback. For example, if you configure Academic Year 1: Enrollment Status = Full Time and Academic Year 2: Enrollment Status = Default, then Academic Year 1 will apply only to students who are Full Time. Academic Year 2 will apply to students who are not Full Time, i.e., Half Time, ¾ Time, or Less Than Half Time, because those statuses were not explicitly configured elsewhere.
Institutional Charges Amounts paid directly to the institution. They appear on the student ledger card and are counted as revenue for your institution. Student Status The prospect or student status at your institution is configurable and may differ by school. When you change a student's status, you must confirm the update in a dialog box, and if there are pending tasks from the previous status, another dialog lets you choose which tasks to keep or close as canceled. A student's current status (like Active) depends on their history and activation units; simply entering a Version Start Date does not automatically activate them without proper status progression. Status values help filter student records in lists, processes, and reports. Alumni statuses include "complete" or "graduated."

Manage Records for Students Accepted by SEVIS
For international students who have been exported and accepted by the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), you can use the International page to:
-
Make changes to the information. For example, you can change their US address when they move. If appropriate, Anthology Student also updates the information on their Student Profile.
-
Communicate other changes to SEVIS using actions you select in the Form Purpose field. For example, you will be able to add employment information and notify SEVIS when their program is complete.
