Setting Up Cloud Account for Sending SMS Messages from Anthology Student
To comply with new federal guidelines for sending text messages, we have contracted with a cloud provider to send the messages from Anthology Student associated with your institution. We will be creating a toll-free number that will be assigned to your instance of Anthology Student and registered so that it will not be blocked by US mobile phone carriers. To expedite this process, we are requesting the following information provided in this form.

SMS Microservice
The SMS Provider Microservice is a new microservice that receives messages sent by students through Twilio, a third-party service provider. It processes incoming messages to identify predefined keywords. If a message contains a predefined keyword, the database is updated accordingly. The service also:
-
Incorporates multi-tenancy support for handling multiple tenants
-
Establishes database interaction for data persistence and retrieval
-
Defines an API endpoint to receive third-party software webhook requests
-
Processes incoming webhook requests and update the Subscribe to SMS column in the Student database
-
Ensures real-time or near-real-time processing for accurate data handling
-
Logging and monitoring mechanisms are in place to track message processing and errors
