Full-Time Equivalency Factors
You can use the Full-Time Equivalency Factors page to configure the Full-Time Equivalency (FTE) Factors to be applied at your institution. If your institution wants to configure FTE, we recommend you use FTE in all the required areas.
Your institution can use Full-Time Equivalency factors and weigh the load types of the courses to be the equivalent and exact portion of a faculty member's full-time job. This means that the total evaluation period of the faculty will vary between 0.0 and 1.0. For example, the full-time equivalency of faculty members for each semester needs to be between .97 and 1.03 to meet their full-time requirements between all of their loads. Faculty Workload applies a factor that converts each portion of their load. In other words, it converts each load type into a Full-Time Equivalency amount.
Your institution can apply FTE to different Course Groups and Non-Teaching Groups based on your internal policies.
When the Advanced Feature flag Enable Load Banking
is set to Yes (refer toAdvanced Features), you can specify and save an FTE Bank Load Limit
value. The system will enforce the configured FTE Bank Load Limit. Staff members will receive a message that the limit is in use and editing may result in banked load totals exceeding the new limit. The FTE Bank Load Limits will be applied to faculty member positions and will be reflected in the Bank Statement per Faculty.
Once you specify the Full-Time Equivalency Factors, the staff member can manage FTE in the:
-
Class Load Type Details page (Select the Configuration tile > locate Faculty Workload > select Class Load Type Details.)
