Status Change Discrepancies
You can use the Status Change Discrepancies report to display the list of students who have discrepancies between the calculated status and the current status. The system evaluates the effective dates of status changes ("current status") and determines the logical "calculated status". Discrepancies occur when dates and statuses do not follow the logical order.
Examples:
-
If a student went from Active to Probation on 9/27/2024, then went from Probation to Withdrawal on 9/24/2024, it causes a discrepancy in the system since these dates are out of order.
-
If the drop date is before the start date, the system will check both and decide that the student is still active, as that is the status with the most recent effective date.
-
If the effective date of the Future Start status is set later than (or the same as) the Expected Start, and the student goes to Active status (through automatic or manual processes), the effective date of Active seems out of sequence (too early). However, the Future Start date was too late.
When the effective date of the most recent status change is in the future, the status calculation used by the Status Discrepancy Report ignores it, which produces a discrepancy on the report.
Best Practice: Run the Status Change Discrepancies report regularly and resolve all discrepancies. Address the underlying issues to prevent new discrepancies from being created every day, some of which cause Enrollment Reporting exception issues. Use different dates for each status change if possible.
If you frequently generate reports with the same selection criteria, you can save the selection criteria under a name. This makes it easier to regenerate the report with the same settings in the future.

Anthology Student exports the generated report as a CSV file, which may be viewed in Excel. In some cases, the exported file will contain additional data not displayed in the report on your screen. If you entered special characters like *, -, !, (, or ) in the report fields, Anthology Student automatically prepends an apostrophe to those field values upon export to Excel or CSV. The apostrophe is added to reduce vulnerability, as these characters are perceived by Excel as an actionable formula. Once the report is exported to Excel, Anthology suggests using find and replace on the characters only if necessary to restore original values. |
