Tuition Discount
Use the Tuition Discount page to:

View and post tuition discount amounts for a student's tuition charges
Tuition discount posting can be automated or manual based on whether the Automate check box is selected when you configure the Tuition Discount policy in Anthology Student.

If Automate is selected, the tuition discount with a posting order is automated and calculated up to 100% of the course charge. Pending tuition discount transactions are posted to the student’s Ledger Card automatically when TUIT charges are posted.

If Automate is cleared, any pending tuition discount transactions are deleted when TUIT charges are posted. Tuition discounts have to be processed manually. You can specify the tuition discount posting order and calculate the discount up to 100% of the course charge. If pending charges exist for the student and pending discounts are available, the information is displayed on the Ledger Card, Ledger Card Report, Registration Bill Summary, and Registration Bill Details.

Update and recalculate tuition discounts when you select or clear discount policy records or change the sequence of discount policies on the tuition discount page.

Access Method
Select the Students tile > select the name in the Students list > expand Student Accounts > select the Tuition Discount tile.
Procedure to Post Tuition Discounts
The grid shows the items for the program version of the current enrollment (if any). Use the Program Version drop-down to change the program version. You cannot select All Program Versions.

Select a Term (if the program version is by Term) or Payment Period (if the program version is by Payment Period).
Parent records are displayed with arrows that expand to display associated discount policies. You can expand all or collapse all the items on the page using the Expand All toggle button.

Review the following values.

Select or clear one or more discount records or select Select All to select all the records.

Specify the Amount to Post
and Sequence
.
If the discount type is set to Flat Amount, you cannot edit the value for Amount to Post if the complete amount is posted to the student's ledger card.

For individual discounts, ensure that the sum of Amount to Post and Posted Amount does not exceed the Calculated Amount for a policy.

For group discounts, ensure that the sum of the Posted Amount and Amount to Post does not exceed the Course Fee value.

Select the Post button.
When 'Connected Enrollment Billing' is configured on the billing method, the Post button is disabled on the non-default connected enrollments. Tuition discounts can only be posted on the default enrollment.

Specify the Transaction Date

When automated billing is in use and Posting Type is set to Post Transaction Details, the Transaction Date for each tuition discount in the payment period must be set to the same value as the course section date.
The tuition discount is posted to the student ledger card and the Amount to Post is cleared.
After you post the tuition discount for a policy, it is not recommended to change discount percentage or flat rates on a tuition discount policy.
Procedure to Recalculate Tuition Discounts
The grid shows the items for the program version of the current enrollment (if any). Use the Program Version drop-down to change the program version. You cannot select All Program Versions.

Select or clear one or more discount records and specify the following values.

Select the Recalculate button.
