Placement Statuses

You can use the Placement Statuses page to:

  • Track the part-time placement of students who are still in school

  • Review basic information from a student's Placement Exit Interview

  • View the student's Career Services Advisor, the student's current status in regards to the selected enrollment, and their graduation date.

The In School Job Placement Status section contains basic information from the student's current placement.

The Exit Interview Status section displays these Interview details as well as the student's current status in regards to placement for the selected enrollment.

Placement details are kept by enrollment and the enrollment data displayed by default is the one at Graduate or Complete status. If neither of these exists, the most current enrollment for the student is displayed. A placement master record is created for each new student enrollment.

Information in the Exit Interview Status section works in conjunction with the Automatic Document Scheduler feature. When the Placement Status for a student is modified and saved, document schedules based on Enrollment are evaluated and if the student's data matches the specified criteria (Placement Status) for a document schedule, all the documents attached to the document schedule that were not scheduled for the student are scheduled.

Prerequisites

To view the page, you must have:

  • Common - Student - View authorization

  • Career Services - Placement Statuses - View authorization

To edit records, you must have Career Services - Placement Statuses - Edit authorization.

Access Method

Select the Students tile > select the name in the Students list > expand Career Services > select the Placement Statuses tile.

Procedure to Edit In School Job Status and Exit Interview Status

  1. Under In School Status, review and specify the following details:

    Date AvailableClosed Enter the date when the student is available to begin work.

    Days AvailableClosed Enter the days that the student is available for work. This is an unformatted text box. Type text as required.

    Effective DateClosed The date or date range when the item is effective or valid and can be used.

    Has Car Closed Select Yes or No to indicate if the student has a car available for traveling to and from work.

    Hours AvailableClosed Enter the hours that the student is available for work. This is an unformatted text box. Type text as required.

    In School Job StatusClosed Select a status from the list.

    NoteClosed Area that displays, or that you can use, to specify comments or additional information related to the record or subject.

    Pay Rate HighClosed Enter the high end of the salary range that the student has agreed to accept from an employer.

    Pay Rate Low(salary types)Closed Enter the low end of the salary range that the student has agreed to accept from an employer.

    ReasonClosed The reason for the change in a record or the reason why a process failed.

    Wants AssistanceClosed Indicates if the student wants assistance in employment placement.

  2. Select Save to save the changes.  

  3. Under Exit Interview Status, review and specify the following details:

    Exit Interview DateClosed Enter the date when the placement exit interview occurred.

    Exit Interview StatusClosed Select a Status from the drop-down list.

    NoteClosed Area that displays, or that you can use, to specify comments or additional information related to the record or subject.

    Pay Rate HighClosed Enter the high end of the salary range that the student has agreed to accept from an employer.

    Pay Rate LowClosed Enter the low end of the salary range that the student has agreed to accept from an employer.

    ReasonClosed The reason for the change in a record or the reason why a process failed.

    Waiver SignedClosed Select Yes or No to indicate if the student has signed a waiver of placement assistance from your institution.

    Wants AssistanceClosed Indicates if the student wants assistance in employment placement.

  4. Select Save to save the changes.  

  5. If a selection is made in ReasonClosed The reason for the change in a record or the reason why a process failed. for either section, the Placement Status Reason pop-up questionnaire is displayed. Specify the required details.

  6. Select Save to save the changes.
