SMS Service Providers

You can use the Short Message Service (SMS) Service Providers page to configure the information about the providers that your institution uses to send text messages to students. The configured SMS service providers are displayed and selected in Anthology Student when you add or edit a Student Profile on the Students list (Select the Students tile.).

This page is not displayed when Enable SMS via Anthology CloudClosed This feature allows students to receive SMS messages through your institution's number. When you set this feature to Yes, a unique toll-free number is allocated to you. This functionality is only available for Standard Web App customers. When you use this new feature, the system will not verify the SMS Service Provider. If you enable this feature, Subscribe To SMS Service and Mobile Phone field becomes read-only in Legacy Interface.  is set to Yes under Settings > System > Advanced Features.

Prerequisites

To view the page, you must have Contact Manager - Configuration - View authorization.

To edit the page, you must have Contact Manager - Configuration - Manage authorization.

Access Method

Select the Configuration tile > locate Contact Manager > select SMS Service Providers.

Procedure to Add or Edit Items

  1. Review the values of the records in the grid.

  2. If you want to:

    • Add a new list item, select the New button on the toolbar

    • Add a new list item by copying and modifying an existing list item, select the row in the list and the Duplicate button on the toolbar

    • Edit an existing list item, select the Name in the list

  3. Review, specify, or change the following values.

    ActiveClosed Specifies whether the associated record is active.

    CodeClosed The alphanumeric code assigned to the item by your institution. In most cases, codes must be unique.

    Domain NameClosed The domain name for the SMS Service Provider. For example, SMSService.Provider.com.

    Max Number Message CharactersClosed The maximum number of characters that the provider allows in a text message.

    NameClosed The descriptive name of the item.

  4. If you want to save and: 

    • Continue making changes, select the Save button

    • Continue to add another item to the list, select the Save & New button

    • Close, select the Save & Close button
