Specify the Type of Data Displayed
A View is empty until you specify the type of data you want to display in the query. To add the data to a View, you select objects and then properties in the query.
Prerequisites
You must have created the View. If you have not created the View, refer to Create a View.
Access Method
Select the Views tile > Explore Views tile > select a view in the Views Explorer window.
Procedure to Add Data to a View
-
If the query is not already displayed, select the Show Query button.
-
In the Object list, select the object from the Object drop-down. The Available Properties list redisplays with all of the properties included by default. You can select an Object from the Object drop-down and search for Available Properties by typing into the Available Properties search bar.
-
If you need to delete a property, select the item in the list and select the X next to the Selected Properties box. If you plan to link Views, do not delete the Id column.
-
If the object has related properties that you also want to add, expand the object in the Available Properties box. Predictive search is available for the Available Properties list. You can type in the search bar to find the Available Property for use. Use the search icon or select the Enter/Return key to search a property. Available Properties also enables you to search for three levels of child properties.
-
Select the check boxes for the related properties.
-
Select the
icon in the upper left. The properties you selected are displayed in the Selected Properties box.
-
Repeat steps 1-3 until you have all the related properties that you want.
-
Select the Save button on the toolbar.
Details About Properties With Multiple Values
In the list of available properties for an object, properties with multiple values are displayed in plural form, for example, Addresses. Properties with a single value are displayed in singular form, for example, Marital Status.
In most cases, the properties in Views that contain multiple values are displayed in the grid. For example, if you have a View that specifies the Common module, People object, and Phone Number property, the row for the person in the grid expands to show a tab with another grid that lists all the phone numbers. If you specify multiple properties with multiple values, Anthology Student displays a tab for each property.

Limitations
When you create the query for a View, you can specify a maximum of five properties that contain multiple values. If you specify more than five, Anthology Student displays a message so that you know to remove the additional properties.
When you create or edit a View in Anthology Student, the system generates an OData query using the selected entity properties/columns. The system limits the number of properties in the OData query to 90. Views will not be displayed and OData queries will not succeed when the limit is exceeded. Opening an existing View that exceeds 90 properties will redirect you back to the grid, where you must select Show Query and edit the properties. If necessary, contact Anthology Support for assistance to modify your custom Views or queries.
